单艺(英文名Rita),是五角大楼联邦信贷联盟信息技术构架师。单艺女士也是美中联盟的共同创始人。她曾担任美国国家植物园中国园之友的执行董事,还曾担任两届美籍华裔妇女组织弗吉尼亚州分会会长和董事会成员。 自2003年国家中国园项目成立以来,单女士就积极参与该项目。从2005年到2008年她为吸引一批早期捐赠人捐资美国国家植物园支持美国国家中国园项目,以及推动该项目对了解中国文化和增强美中两国关系的重大意义做出很大努力。在华府,马里兰州以及弗吉尼亚州北部,单女士还组织了许多大型的文化活动,其中包括为推广中国园项目在美国国家植物园举办的五届中国中秋节。单女士在领养中国儿童家庭协会讲授中国烹饪文化课程。单艺女士也是美国国家中国园基金会的创始董事会成员并担任了基金会第一任财务主管。

Yi Shan, also known as Rita Shan is an information technology architect with a large credit union. Ms. Shan is also co-founder of the U.S.-China Alliance. Ms. Shan served as the executive director of the Friends of China Garden at the U.S. National Arboretum, has also served as board member and two terms as President of the Organization of Chinese American Women, Virginia Chapter. Rita has been engaged in the National China Garden project since its inception in 2003 and was instrumental in introducing a number of Pioneer and Charter Donors to the U.S. National Arboretum in support of the project from 2005-2008 as well as raising awareness and visibility about the value and importance of the project to learning about Chinese culture and strengthening U.S.-China relations. Ms. Shan has organized and delivered a number of large cultural events in the Capital, State of Maryland as well as Northern Virginia, including five (5) annual Chinese Moon Festivals at the U.S. National Arboretum to promote the China Garden project. Ms. Shan currently holds classes in Chinese cooking and culture for Families with Children from China (FCC). Ms. Shan is a founding board member of the National China Garden Foundation and served as its first treasurer.
